Individual Income Tax
Obaseki & Associates Inc. CPA will help you file your income tax. Our 16
years in tax business serve us as a self-recommendation.
If you are an employee, bring your W-2 form and list of expenses that your
employer did not pay for, such as your uniform and business mileage only
(not your commuting miles unless you travel from one work location to
another).
If you are self-employed, bring 1099-Miscellaneous if you have one or
records of your self-employment income for the year or particular time
period. Bring a list of your business expenses including rent, salaries paid
and related taxes, donations, insurance and utilities, mileage records and
gasoline records including car maintenance if you use car for the business
purpose. If you conduct business from your home, you may wish to bring us the number of the square footage of the home-office compared to the total square footage of living quarters. If you are not sure which other business expenses you can claim, our accountants will help you to determine them.
If you are a student, bring the tax form that your college mails you at the end of the year and how much you spent on your books and supplies (receipts are required). If you have dependents bring their names, social security numbers, dates of birth and their relationship to you. Our staff will help you to determine whether you can claim somebody as a dependent if you have doubts.
All the above-mentioned information is just “scratching the surface” of
possible deductions and credits, so talk to us. |
